As I have previously talked about the more streetwear stores in Soho from the New York trip, I now want to talk about the more luxury stores that I have visited which were also located in the Soho area. The first store I came across was Louis Vuitton. What I loved about this store was the displays of all the LV suitcases and how there was a setup of a drawing on it that was still drying and it looked stunning. I was not sure if you could actually choose to get a custom drawing on it but I know that LV does a lot with customisation in general so it might be actually available.

Another thing which the store showed some if its history with the suitcases, as this is how the brand started, was by showing sketches and designs of cases laid out on a table to look at.

There were also some red cases that were displayed in tune with the Chinese/Lunar New Year which the year of the rat. One case had a drawing of a rat on them which I thought was quite cute but I personally think the original design is more of a statement and speaks for itself.

Another shop I visited on this day was the highly recommended Prada store. And it was really something I have never seen before. The upper-level space was filled by this enormous skateboard like ramp which there were steps on both sides to go down to. It made me feel so overwhelmed and excited but also made me speechless by the way the mannequins were displayed on it and how it just made the whole store an experience.

Even though this store isn't very new I still think that an idea like this has such a high and unique memorable factor which is extremely rare in the modern days as people do not tend to get very excited about things, especially by shopping in stores which is why so many people are ordering online. This store really sparked my interest and made me remember why I am doing the Fashion Communication and Promotion course. Getting this feeling of excitement while being in a store is really important in my opinion and is hopefully something that will be pushed more in the next years.
Overall I have extremely enjoyed the Retail Heaven of Soho. It was probably one of my favourite areas of New York, even though I haven't seen it all yet, which I still need to though as I am truly in love with this city. Having seen all these amazing spaces there I think that European cities have lots of room to improve.
