Blogs. Most people's thoughts that would probably pop up in their heads about blogs is outdated, old fashioned, 2012, or just basically would not take you seriously in times where Tik Tok is an actual thing, sadly. Having been writing blog posts for the past few months I have realised a few things that I would like to share on here. Firstly, I have noticed that the thought of it being a chore is the worst mindset you could have to start writing a blog. It needs to be fun and genuine to be able to get the readers attention and also for the writer to be able to write fluidly and creatively to make a blog attractive to others. It also needs to include topics you enjoy. If you start writing about something that you do not even have a slight interest in, just don't. Another important thing is to keep it personal, it is overall a blog but also think about how much you actually want people on the internet to know about your personal life and struggles. People can interpret things completely differently from what you might think and the internet is a very scary place overall, so make sure you think twice before you click that publish button. Credits! If you upload images onto the blog make sure you give yourself some credit. There is so much plagiarism and fakeness on social media, so if you took that image make sure you label it. The same thing goes for the other way around. If you take images from other blogs or people that have put the effort and kindness to share images make sure you also give them the credit they deserve. Being completely honest with myself there are times where I can just write a blog post about something that I truly am passionate about and it just clicks and flows perfectly. However, there are times where I could sit in front of my screen and think to myself, why would anyone even want to read this? But even if no one reads this, it is still something you have accomplished and you can be proud of. If it is just about a tv show you enjoy watching or if it is a deep analysis of a brand it is still a written piece by you. What I do really need to learn though is to plan my time with blogs and not panic about what to write and just do it.
