As my Spring/Summer 2020 trend story I was given is Gothic Noir I went around the city centre of my hometown Stuttgart to see if the trend has been adapted in the shops, as I am there over the winter break. I found a few places from the high street such as Zara and a shop called Hallhuber which is a middle price range shop in Germany that had some items which I thought represented the trend quite well.

Another shop which had a dress with some gothic features was Tally Weijl, which is a Swiss brand for younger people. The upper corset-like in contrast with the draping long skirt gave it a gothic-like touch and the all-black as well.

The next shops I looked at were quite small independent boutiques which are quite common in Germany. They are usually very small and more suited for 40 + year olds but it came to my surprise that in two boutiques both shop windows were decorated with quite gothic garments that match the trend story.

The next shop I looked at was a department store in Stuttgart called "Breuningerland" which is probably the equivalent to "Selfridges" in the UK. I looked at a few designer pieces but most of the newer collections were not out yet so the closest item I found was this Gucci dress which to me silhouette had quite gothic features with how it draped and how it was shaped a little victorian.

The last shop window which I thought matched the trend story quite well is from the Valentino store in Stuttgart. The hat, such as the all-black look and long draping elements all contributed to the gothic noir trend.
