In tune with the launch of the public Chanel exhibition: Mademoiselle Prive Tokyo which celebrates Coco Chanel and gives an exclusive insight into the creative house and the genius mind behind it, I wanted to share my experience from 2 years ago when I went to the exhibition in Seoul, South Korea.
Summer 2 years ago I still lived in Seoul and was able to go to really exciting events and exhibitions such as this one. As the exhibition celebrates the rise and success of the brand as well as the beginnings of Coco Chanel´s career it started with a room that recreated her hat boutique as that was the start of her success and showed how she worked her way up from a little boutique to one of the biggest fashion houses to this day. The next room showed the perfumes such as the Chanel No 5 and had some of the notes such as jasmine in the air to create an experience of the perfume in tune with petals and calming music in the background which created a really nice atmosphere which made me feel very connected to the brand and its history as the Chanel No 5 perfume is one of the brands most iconic products.

Another highlight of the exhibition for me was the pictures of Chanel's muses hanging form the ceiling. It showed women like Keira Knightley, Lily-Rose Depp, Julianne Moore, and many other women who have been working with the brand for a high amount of time and also regularly attend Chanel's catwalk shows. What I liked about this display was the play of mixing black and white images and coloured ones, it gave a really nice contrast in my opinion. They also moved up and down which also made it interactive and interesting to look at.

The next room showed some couture pieces from past years that have been displayed very nicely as they were lit up by these lightsticks which made it possible to see the detailing of each piece. This was really exciting for me to see such expensive pieces in real life as so much thought and effort goes into creating them. The thought that these garments sell for some people's annual pay gave me pause.

Another exciting room of the exhibition was the workshop room where people could book a session to learn how to stitch flowers onto garments. This was sadly already sold out completely which did not surprise me as it was free of charge and a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to learn from experts of Chanel.

What I liked about these samples was how in the colourful one especially the detailing was really nicely done and I could see the effort that goes into these. Coming towards the end of this exciting exhibition I wanted to talk about my favourite part of the whole event which was the portrait room. This room was filled with portraits shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself that he took of some of Chanel's muses such as Irene Kim, Jemima Kirke, Caroline De Maigret, and many other iconic people who have been working with the brand. On these portraits, they are wearing Chanel jewellery with stars being in focus from this jewellery collection.

What I loved about these portraits is that you can see the comfortable relationship of each individual they had with Karl. Every image is unique in its own way and tells its own story which makes these photos very authentic in my opinion.
Overall this exhibition was one of the best exhibitions I have ever been to, it made me feel very connected to the brand and being able to look back to it and sharing it with you guys gave me very happy nostalgic feelings.
