Netflix series Alert!!! I have discovered a "new" show on Netflix recently which is obviously based in New York. I fell in love with this city since the visit and I can not stop thinking about it since. I have already subscribed to The New Yorker magazine and do I feel ashamed? Maybe. However, this show is all about Kimmy Schmidt who was one of 3 other women that have been captured in a bunker for 15 years, isolated from reality and have been rescued and are all thrown into modern-day society. Kimmy decides to live her life in New York, not knowing what Instagram, veganism and a blowout are. She is extremely naive yet motivated and her two roommates are probably one of the funniest and believable series characters I have seen in a long time.

Kimmy starts off by unsuspectedly becoming a babysitter/housekeeper/therapist for this typical middle-aged New Yorker woman who has married a man that is never home and has one small child and one teenager that isn't hers that obviously has the most stressful and time-consuming life you could have.

What I love about this show is how genuine the character of Kimmy is played by actress Ellie Kemper as she is excited by the tiniest things and that excitement comes off really genuine and makes you think about how good we actually have it in this world. This show really made me appreciate the small things once in a while and take a step back from social media to get a breather. And it was based in New York which already makes it 100 times better.
